Lawmakers want to see the results of the first-ever audit of the Arizona Power Authority before the agency locks in 50-year contracts for low-cost hydropower.
As a state board is about to sign 50-year contracts for low-cost hydropower from Hoover Dam, two skeptical lawmakers are pushing for a harder look at the lucrative deals.
State senators Steve Farley and Kimberly Yee wrote the Arizona Power Authority last month, asking the five-member board to wait until the results of a legislatively ordered audit of the agency are released late this year.
