DUDLEYVILLE — Democratic Pinal County Supervisor Pete Rios says he’s tired of the Arizona Legislature shifting its costs onto the county.
It’s an issue he plans to focus more on, if re-elected this year to represent District 1, by building a better relationship with state lawmakers. He said the state has shifted millions of dollars in expenses onto Pinal County, putting a greater strain on the county’s budget.
That makes it harder to pay for parks, roads and law enforcement — resources, he said, already lacking in his district, which encompasses the county’s rural southeast region.
