Rose Law Group Hero of the Week: Don Bolles

BollesBy Rachel Leingang | Arizona Capitol Times

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has proclaimed June 13 as “Don Bolles Day” in honor of an Arizona investigative journalist who died 40 years ago.

Bolles was killed by a car bomb in 1976 in the parking lot of the Clarendon Hotel in Phoenix while he was investigating organized crime and government corruption.

Ducey said in a statement Monday that Bolles’ legacy is one of a courageous reporter that stood for democracy, free speech and transparency in government.

He said the day honors the memory of Bolles as well as those of all Arizona journalists who work to educate, protect and inform the public.
