Like every parent, I worry. But he’s got his whole life to sell insurance.
These days, it seems like everybody’s kid is in show business. At a Sabbath dinner in Cleveland, a lawyer told me his son was doing comedy in Los Angeles and waiting tables. A dean from Case Western Reserve University said his son was an actor/server in Chicago. I said, “My son is a musician in L.A.”
“Living the dream?” the dean asked.
Actually, yes. My son, Jack, and his band, Vulfpeck, are living the dream. Last fall they were on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” next month they’re performing at Bonnaroo, and in August they’ll play at Lockn’, another huge festival, on the same bill as the legendary jam band Phish.
