Arizona Public Service power lines, strung from steel poles up to 100 feet high, could be the first sight to greet visitors at Scottsdale’s mega-event center WestWorld next year, including hundreds of thousands of spectators and television viewers for Barrett-Jackson’s annual collector-car auction.
The plans have sparked outrage among property owners near Loop 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard, an area known for wide-open mountain views and tourist attractions like the auction and Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show.
