Chandler: Meet your city council candidates

Eight candidates are vying for three open seats on the Chandler City Council in the Aug. 30 primary election. Two seats are guaranteed to be filled with council newcomers as current members Jack Sellers and Rick Heumann will reach their term limits in early January. New members will be seated soon after. If there are not enough candidates who win seats outright in the primary — by obtaining more than 50 percent of votes cast —  a runoff election will be held Nov. 8.
