The Eloy City Council has delayed a decision on annexing 14 acres that might be used for a marijuana growing operation.
The council voted unanimously Monday to wait for a month in order to talk to the proponents about some concerns raised about such a facility.
The city was approached by Zavala Properties about the land near Alsdorf Road and State Route 87, which is currently surrounded by the city.
Although it is currently planned as a medium-density residential area, the land in question has never been used for that purpose.
