Has Barry been banished? Is Goldwater gone?

A sharp-eyed reader noted former U.S. Sen. Barry Goldwater’s name is no longer on the state Republican Party headquarters building. Could it be discontent with Republicans who don’t follow a rigidly ideological path has reached its boiling point?

After all, years ago, some party activists agitated to have the 1964 presidential nominee’s name removed from the central Phoenix building after he endorsed a Democrat in a congressional race, among other apostasies.
