Phoenix’s flagship Macayo’s Mexican Kitchen will trade its Aztec-inspired pyramid on Central Avenue for a refitted automotive garage across the street by early next year, according to new plans for the restaurant released Wednesday.

Developers recently received zoning approval to turn its current site, north of Indianola Avenue, into hundreds of apartments.
