The accusation that the county supervisors are selling the Chase Field baseball park for a song is a bit unfair.
Yes, the ballpark cost $354 million to build. And yes, the county is willing to sell it for a fraction of that.
But, in economics, something is worth only what someone else is willing to pay for it.
What is an 18-year-old ballpark whose tenant is demanding substantial repair work worth? What it cost to build is irrelevant to answering that question.
