Scottsdale voters will have few choices this fall while electing a mayor and three City Council members, as the six candidates offer contrasting opinions on several hot-button issues.
A small field of candidates — two for mayor and four for City Council — led Scottsdale to forgo a primary election in August, but campaign season is revving up as the Nov. 8 general election nears.
Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane faces a challenge from former Councilman Bob Littlefield. Incumbent Council members Suzanne Klapp, Virginia Korte and Guy Phillips are defending their seats against one newcomer, China Mist Tea co-founder Dan Schweiker, a former Paradise Valley Town Council member.
