A new poll has former state Sen. Tom O’Halleran leading Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu by seven points in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District race.

The poll was released by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and showed O’Halleran, the Democratic nominee, earning favor with 45 percent of those surveyed. Thirty-eight percent were favorable to Babeu, the Republican nominee.

The poll surveyed 400 people across Arizona’s largest congressional district who were considered likely to vote in November’s general election. The results of the survey have a margin of error of almost 5 percent.
