Maricopa County’s curveball effort to sell Chase Field to private investors to resolve a dispute with the Arizona Diamondbacks appears to have missed its mark.
More than a month has passed without a formal meeting between the team and an out-of-state buyer group, a step necessary for the deal to proceed.
County officials are making progress on another step: Seeking an appraisal of the property. Officials have approached the national real-estate firm CBRE Group Inc., as a possible analyst.
But “there is nothing new with the negotiations, and the board has not commissioned the new appraisal,” county spokesman Fields Moseley told The Arizona Republic.
