Ahwatukee Board of Management directors explain why they resigned

On Sept. 21, at a meeting of the Ahwatukee Board of Management (ABM), we three resigned our positions as ABM directors. Some have asked: why did we resign, all at once?

The simple answer is: we failed in our efforts to develop a collaborative Board more sensitive to homeowners and better uniting our community to save open space.

We envisioned dialog and the power of homeowners to speak. Instead, we experienced homeowners being restricted from participating because meetings were set too early or in too small a space for homeowners to attend. We found our efforts weren’t appreciated by incumbent board colleagues.
