Saturday Night Live began its 42nd season with a new Donald Trump: Alec Baldwin, 16-time host of SNL, was tapped to play the Republican candidate for president (as recommended by Tina Fey), and he nailed it.
Baldwin starred in a presidential debate cold open against Kate McKinnon’s spot-on Hillary Clinton, with Michael Che as Lester Holt. He certainly looked the part, with his pouty face, fluffy hair and tan skin. And he had some winning lines, like this one early on:
