Candidates seek to guide groundwater group’s governance

The Nov. 8 election will help determine the future management of Arizona’s Colorado River management and groundwater conservation program.

Maricopa County voters will choose five members of the 15-member Central Arizona Water Conservation District, which governs the Central Arizona Project canal and related groundwater recharge programs. Ten people are running for five positions with six-year terms. Each voter is asked to pick up to five. The positions are unpaid.
