Rezoning request would expand district’s boundaries

Created more than a decade ago, the Downtown Business District was intended to accommodate the somewhat unique features of Prescott’s historic downtown.
Built along extra-wide streets, the downtown’s old buildings tend to lack one important modern-day component: On-site parking.
“The design was intended for the building to fill up the whole lot,” Planning Manager George Worley explained of Prescott’s downtown buildings, many of which date back a century or more.
