Following construction of a new parking lot at University of Phoenix Stadium, city council was expected to approve the transfer of budget line items at the Oct. 25 council meeting.
The total transfer of $27,718,475, of which $22,664568 was for the acquisition of land and parking lot along 91st Avenue east of the stadium, also included line-item transfers for court enhancement, sanitation and other funded projects.
“These transfers are within the budget and part of the year-end closing for the 2015-16 budget,” said Finance Director Vicki Rios. “The city typically will find some things that need to be adjusted on the budget or cash side and these are just some of the final adjustments that came about.”
The transfer of funds from accounts within the budget does not change any portion of the budget totals.
