Goldwater Institute sues Peoria over Huntington University

The Goldwater Institute is suing Peoria, claiming the city is giving away more than $2.5 million in taxpayer money to Huntington University and its landlord in the form of subsidies.

The suit claims Huntington received $1.9 million as an incentive for the university to locate in Peoria, and the landlord, Arrowhead Equities, LLC, of Mesa received $740,000 for building renovations.

The university and landlord are private businesses.
