Phoenix, AZ, October 25, 2016 – With more than 3,000 people on the interest list for its upcoming Rhythm community, expectations were fairly high for developer and builder Mattamy Homes. Even so, buyer response to the initial opening events surprised even Mattamy (which is North America’s largest privately owned homebuilder) and made for one of the most exciting releases over the past several years, for not just the company but the industry overall.
“The Mattamy team worked very hard on the Rhythm opening events, and we were certainly prepared, but despite that we were stunned with the early response to Rhythm,” says Harry Lourimore, Mattamy’s Division President in Phoenix. “I’ve been in the Phoenix homebuilding industry for a long time and I can’t recall interest levels like this for the opening stages of a new community. I’d say it’s unprecedented in recent memory in this market. I think it says something not just about our reputation and the location, but could also represent pent-up demand for such housing and buyer confidence in the future.”
From October 11 to 13 Mattamy held nine Information Sessions to educate customers and realtors about the company, Rhythm, and the pre-sale event that would took place on Saturday October 15. Almost all the sessions were at the maximum capacity of 70, with a total of 591 potentially interested buyers attending.
More than 100 people were pre-qualified online through Mattamy Home Funding in order to attend the pre-sale event.
People started lining up at 1:30 p.m. the day before the pre-sale event was to begin. When the Mattamy team arrived Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m., there were more than 40 people in line hoping to purchase a home at Rhythm.
The Mattamy sales team started writing lot reservations at 10 a.m. and ended the night by taking the last lot reservation at 9:30 p.m.
“We’re proud that Mattamy has experienced the degree of success we have in Phoenix already, and grateful that our thoughtful home designs and communities have been so well received,” says Harry. “With the early reaction to Rhythm as a clear sign of major customer interest, we look forward to working with our buyers and building on that interest going forward, with what we believe is a very special community.”
Rhythm will offer an unprecedented variety of home types and floor plans, including condominium units, three-story lofts, two-story villas, and 40′-wide single-family homes. Residents will enjoy a central amenity center featuring a resort-style pool, fitness center, multi-use lawn, lounging areas, fire pits, and more. With major freeway access, Rhythm is close to high-tech employers, convenient shopping, dining, entertainment, and many recreational services.
