Corporation Commission, take note: Homeowners’ solar arrays can help control everyone’s electricity costs
Next month, Arizona has the opportunity to decide how we will value our most abundant resource: the sunshine on our rooftops.
The Arizona Corporation Commission, the five-person body elected to oversee many of the state’s electric utilities, is expected to vote to determine a methodology to quantify rooftop solar’s benefits to utility ratepayers. In other words, the commission will decide how to consider solar’s impact as a resource in future decisions affecting electricity policy and rate-making.
The question they are grappling with: What benefits does rooftop solar provide to all Arizonans?
