City council gave the go-ahead for staff to come back with a resolution to adopt a proposed entertainment district in downtown Glendale that could allow certain alcohol establishments to open next door to a church or school.
Council made the decision after hearing survey results on the proposal at Tuesday’s workshop. Overall 56 percent of the 151 stakeholders surveyed backed the .52-square-mile district, which takes in Glendale Avenue from 43rd to 61st avenues.
“Once adopted, it’s best not to change the boundary of the district,” Budget and Finance Director Vicki Rios said.
