Republicans Robert Burns, Andy Tobin and Boyd Dunn were leading the five-way race for three seats on the Arizona Corporation Commission, according to early ballot results Tuesday.
The Associated Press called the race in favor of the trio.
The commission regulates electric, water and gas utilities, in addition to other duties, such as overseeing railroad crossings and regulating securities. Commissioners serve four-year terms and earn $79,500 annually.
Burns, Tobin and Dunn, and Democrats Tom Chabin and William Mundell, emerged from the primary election hoping to land one of the seats to be determined in this election.
