Out-of-state investors aiming to build a new stadium to replace 18-year-old Chase Field are at loggerheads with the Arizona Diamondbacks, with no resolution in sight.
And as the investors this week sought to blunt the team’s opposition, they have created more confusion.
In response to questions about the status of the Chase Field proposal, Stadium Real Estate Partners II told The Arizona Republic they would entertain building a second sports facility, presumably for the Phoenix Suns, who have found support for a new basketball arena in Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.
