About 100 people gathered at the state Capitol on Sunday evening for a candlelight vigil urging Arizona electors not to cast their votes for Donald Trump.
The vigil was part of a nationwide day of action by a group called Vigils for America, which is urging electors across the country to “vote their conscience” on Monday, when electors from across the country are scheduled to cast votes that reflect the outcome of the presidential election in their states. The group is planning another vigil outside of the state Capitol complex in Phoenix from 9 a.m. to noon Monday.
