The city has contracted with Worldwide Growth Enterprises Inc., an Arizona corporation doing business as IO.INC, for the creation of an economic development strategic plan.
Harold Stewart, interim economic development director, said the current strategic plan is five years old and the economy has shifted, as it often does.
He explained that the city received eight proposals and four were presented personally to the evaluation committee. City officials chose IO.INC because of its well-received plan and nationwide and worldwide economic strategies it has previously developed.
