Historic home stands in way of stoplight

The Town of Chino Valley and Yavapai County officials are moving ahead with plans for a traffic light at Road 1 North and Highway 89 in response to numerous car crashes there.

The building, now located at Road 1 North and Highway 89, is in the way of a future traffic light and road improvements. Lauster hopes to save the building and turn it into a Jerome Junction museum.

One complication is that a historic home is located very close to the two roads, which would make adding a right-hand turn lane difficult.
