Texas-based LGI homes is stepping it up in Arizona with the introduction of its Terrata brand to the Newland Communities Estrella master-planned community in Goodyear. The amenities are many, with residents’ clubs, golfing, lakes, parks and trails, social activities, with more opening soon, including a community center which will be positioned close to the Terrata build site.
“The Estrella community affords a wonderful opportunity to bring the Terrata brand to Arizona,” said Chris Kelly, LGI Division president.
LGI Homes began building and selling in Arizona in 2011 with its LGI brand that has historically focused on entry-level, first-time homebuyers, primarily encouraging renters to buy. Kelly said unlike the LGI brand, Terrata will market to different types of homebuyers–families and buyers looking to move up.
The first phase named Mirador 1 will feature 92 homes with 65-foot-wide lot sizes. The Terrata project requires larger lots sizes than the LGI brand, Kelly said. The homes will range from 2,100 to 2,900 square-feet. The Terrata brand has been successfully deployed in Denver, Charlotte, San Antonio and Houston.
Construction is planned to start later this month, with a goal of opening to the public before the end of the year. LGI takes a customer service approach to home buying and selling, providing finished move-in ready homes to show different floor plans to buyers.
The reputation of Estrella’s developer Newland Communities was a big part of the choice to bring the Terrata brand to Arizona, Kelly said.
