Maricopa County had the second highest increase in workforce in the U.S. for the second quarter this year compared to last year. The county gained over 50,000 new jobs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The county increased its workforce by 2.9 percent in 2016 over 2015, and wages 2.2 percent. The average annual county wage at the end of the second quarter was $50,440, up 2.2 percent from 2015.
