Paradise Valley Town Council is taking initial steps to update a selection of development and planning fees associated with building within the municipal boundaries.
During its Dec. 15 study session held at Town Hall, 6401 E. Lincoln Drive, the council was presented with the beginning steps to revise fees related to the planning and engineering department, as well as fire prevention, application and administration costs.
The current fee schedule is derived from a 1997 uniform building code, Director of Administration and Government Affairs Dawn Marie Buckland explained at the study session.
Previous revisions include a comprehensive one in 2008 — with a 3.4 percent increase in fees across the board — and one prior in 2002 when evaluations for single-family homes and garages were updated.
