PHOENIX — While the takeover of federal lands remains a priority of some state lawmakers, Arizona’s current and former governor have shown less interest, as have voters.
Last year Gov. Doug Ducey vetoed legislation by Rep. Bob Thorpe, R-Flagstaff which would have required the federal government to transfer certain public lands to the state by 2022. And if the feds did not comply, it authorized the attorney general to sue.
