As Republicans in Congress move to repeal the Affordable Care Act, supporters of the law mounted a campaign to salvage the federal law that has extended health-insurance coverage to more than 20 million Americans.
Arizona Democrats and Obamacare allies held a rally at the state Capitol on Wednesday, defending the health-care law passed in 2010.
The urgency comes as Republicans in the U.S. Senate took a procedural vote and opened debate on a budget bill that could strip away parts of the Affordable Care Act.
President-elect Donald Trump also seized on repeal talk, tweeting about Arizona’s Obamacare premium hikes of 116 percent to bolster his argument that the health-care law is unaffordable and should be repealed.
