urveys done by the Arizona Department of Transportation show many residents prefer not building the proposed Interstate 11 freeway that would run through Pinal County.
ADOT released a report Thursday detailing public comments it gathered this past summer on a freeway intended to stretch from Wickenburg to Nogales.
The agency conducted an online survey that asked respondents how they’d like I-11 to take shape. More people thought expanding or enhancing existing infrastructure was the “most important” option compared to others listed.
Over 250 respondents thought building an entirely new freeway was the “least important” of options, and the smallest number of respondents thought it was the “most important.”
