After a five-year study, a transportation project moving to the next step has Coolidge Mayor Jon Thompson optimistic about the benefits it could have for the city.
The Federal Railroad Administration published its decision last month on a railroad alternative – the “yellow corridor alternative,” with portions of the “orange corridor alternative” also being considered – connecting Phoenix and Tucson with a stop in Coolidge, based upon the analysis conducted by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The study thus far included surveys completed by more than 10,000 Arizonans statewide, offering their input on which routes would be best, including the “no-build alternative.”
