Coyotes’ planned move to Tempe on thin ice without ASU, legislative assists

The Arizona Coyotes last year unveiled plans for a new $400 million arena in Tempe.

Arizona Coyotes co-owners Anthony LeBlanc and Andrew Barroway want to move the National Hockey League team out of Glendale to a new $400 million arena next to Arizona State University in Tempe.

But making that move isn’t going to be easy.

First, the Coyotes ownership wants the Arizona Legislature to create a special taxation district at the Tempe arena site to capture revenue to help finance the new home.
