The Arizona Coyotes face plenty of challenges in their bid to move out of Glendale get a new arena built in Tempe on land owned by Arizona State University.
That includes resistance from fiscal conservatives at the Arizona Legislature skeptical of the National Hockey League team’s plan for the creation of a special tax district to capture revenue to help finance the proposed 16,000-seat arena at McClintock Road and Rio Salado Parkway.
The city of Glendale is already part of the political dynamic at the Legislature on the Coyotes issue and could add ot the political resistance to state help for the Tempe arena.
