Homebuilder going green, sustainable with 2 new Arizona developments

A home at Maracay’s Adora Trails development/MARACAY HOMES

Maracay hopes for the homes in Chandler and Gilbert to use 30 to 60 percent less energy via LED lighting, energy efficient systems, Energy Star appliances and high-tech thermostats.

The homebuilder will registered the new subdivisions with the U.S. Green Building Council and is seeking LEED Certification for their environmentally friendly design and impact.

Maracay is building The Preserve at Adora Trails in Gilbert and Hawthorn Manor in Chandler. They are under construction and slated to open this year.
