Mayor Giles readies agenda for Mesa, focuses on economy, feedback

Mesa Mayor John Giles has an ambitious agenda for his second term centered on opportunity for growth, citizen participation and the city’s reputation.

Giles will outline his objectives at the annual State of the City Breakfast on Tuesday, Jan. 31, sponsored by the Mesa Chamber of Commerce, at the Mesa Convention Center.

His goals include keeping pace with public safety in the wake of growth, a focus on economic development that includes a business-friendly attitude from city government, workforce development that includes a higher number of college graduates, a welcoming attitude and an outreach campaign to get feedback from residents.
