Pima County leases to Rio Nuevo could insulate against gift clause suits. “Like the one filed by the… Goldwater Institute… alleg[ing] the deal [‘to finance and construct a launch pad and headquarters for the space balloon company’ World View] violates the Arizona Constitution’s gift clause, which… prohibits public bodies from lending their ‘credit in the aid of’ a corporation. THE PURLOINED LETTER? – State Election Director denies demanding voters be purged. “Election Director Eric Spencer said Jan. 26 that the Secretary of State’s Office received a letter from another state… requesting additional information about a list of voters. ‘The letter is seeking Arizona’s assistance to help the other state clean up its voter registration rolls,’ Spencer explained in response to the accusations.” So where is that (original) letter now? According to this AZCIR report from Evan Wyloge, “Spencer… and his staff cannot find [it],” and neither can “seven counties the Secretary of State sent the letter to…” Hmmm… Stay tuned. http://bit.ly/2k9z7JF
