Pinal Central
Pinal County has been proposed as a site for a number of theme parks over the years, with its strategic location along major transportation corridors. The one announced recently, however, Dreamport Villages, has a significant air of realism attached.

The site on the edge of Casa Grande Mountain has been a plum parcel that has been the subject of plans for a long time. Part of the property still is slated for a choice residential development, but a Florida company with a significant track record, Block Sports Company, is the major player eying 1,500 acres for a destination resort and amusement park, among other amenities.
One key factor that stands out is the idea of putting much of the project indoors. Heat has plagued other plans in the Arizona desert, including the venerable Legend City that operated in Phoenix from the 1960s through 1983.
Phase one of the project is to include an indoor water park, an extreme sports park, an RV park and retail space. Other aspects are to come later.
Of course there are several hurdles to cross, but Dreamport Villages could be a huge boost to the economy and quality of life in Pinal County.
