Johnson Utilities opposes STV incorporation bill in multiple newsletters

Water-service provider Johnson Utilities has repeatedly made it clear it is against the House Bill that could mean incorporation for San Tan Valley.

House Bill 2088 passed a House vote last week, and will move to the Senate next. The bill would revoke a legal provision that gives an existing city or town within six miles of an area such as San Tan Valley, where more than 100,000 reside, the power to block its incorporation.

Johnson Utilities’ February newsletter mailed to customers in their monthly statement included a full-paged — front and back — editorial labeled “The ‘right to vote’ theme is a scam.”
