Ottawa University is opening a 35-acre residential campus in Surprise this fall, complete with dorms and 19 varsity men’s and women’s sports teams.
Kevin Eichner, president of Ottawa University, said he has been exploring the idea of a residential campus since 2010.
“In 2011, we came very close to doing a deal, and then we had to move onto a couple of other cities, and now we’re back here with Surprise,” he said.
He said he’s been working with Surprise leadership for nearly two years.
