Belfiore Consulting: Opportunities, challenges abound for financing infill projects around the Valley

Infill development in need of funding can have opportunities and challenges, depending on the type of project being undertaken.

Developers are garnering financing from both equity investors and lenders, as well as debt providers and banks, said Jim Belfiore, president of Phoenix-based Belfiore Consulting.

Belfiore said he has seen money for new infill apartment buildings tighten, especially as the market appears to be pausing while it absorbs the multifamily building boom of the past five years.
