BMW plans to open a full service car dealership in Glendale, where it will employ between 150 and 200 people.

The Glendale City Council voted today to sell a 13-acre parcel to West Valley RE LLC for $2.4 million — the same amount the city had paid for that parcel about a month ago from PDS Realty when city officials were planning to develop a Park-and-Ride lot.

The parcel is at the bend of Loop 101 and Union Hills Road, near the Aspera, a mixed-use project being developed by Cardon Development Group. Currently there is some retail, an apartment complex and a Mountainside Fitness on the site, which will be anchored by a Banner Health facility.
