Mayor Craig McFarland touched upon many subjects during his first state of the city address Wednesday, but a reoccurring theme was the concept of preparing for a bright future.
The mayor referenced big development projects like Lucid Motors and Attesa, which may bring thousands of new jobs to Casa Grande, but emphasized the need to plan before the development comes.
Housing and job training are two of his biggest priorities moving forward, as these projects will need skilled workers and houses for them to occupy. He told a large crowd of local officials that the city’s already taken steps to network with home builders but could do better in communicating positive information about the perks of building in Casa Grande.
