A bill that would reform how law enforcement agencies spend and report assets seized from criminals continues advancing through the Arizona Legislature.
On March 23, the Arizona Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously voted to advance House Bill 2477 after it already had passed through the House last month.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Eddie Farnsworth, R-Gilbert, sets a higher burden on the state to prove personal items taken from alleged criminals were indeed actually involved in the commission of a crime.
