Light rail’s role in Glendale discussed

Centerline recommendations include private sector involvement

After limited improvements to the Centerline Overlay District along Glendale Avenue since it was established in 2011, councilmembers heard an update on how the area could be revitalized into what was originally envisioned.

During a March 7 city council workshop, Urban Land Institute presented a study, funded by a grant that focuses primarily on the downtown area along the Glendale Avenue corridor bounded by 43rd and 51st avenues and Myrtle Avenue and Ocotillo Road. The study also contained recommendations about what can be done to increase the area.
