San Francisco Bay Area-based Lucid Motors began taking orders in February for its 1,000-horsepower Lucid Air four-door luxury electric vehicle.

Lucid Motors’ electric car manufacturing facility is one step closer to becoming a reality.

Pinal County Air Quality has approved Lucid Motors’ proposed environmental standards at the planned Casa Grande facility. Pinal County Public Information Officer Joe Pyritz noted that this permit does not allow Lucid to start “turning dirt” but simply means the county has signed off on Lucid’s plans for the environmental controls in the plant.

Despite a Business Insider article this week that reported Lucid will be taking on Tesla Motors in an expanding Chinese market, Lucid spokesman David Salguero told PinalCentral that he couldn’t confirm anything related to sales in China.

Go Lucid and Casa Grande. Maybe the Arizona legislature will let them sell their cars direct with no dealers ? They still block Tesla which uses the same methods.
