Positive difference defines city’s growth, future, says Glendale mayor

Building on its reputation as a “business-friendly” city, Mayor Jerry Weiers said Glendale is where the economic growth is happening in his state of the city address March 2 during the 66th annual event hosted by the Glendale Chamber of Commerce at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa.

“Making a positive difference is our job and the way we can keep this incredible forward momentum going,” he said.

Weiers focused his remarks on five areas of success: fiscal responsibility, economic development, public safety, quality of life and veteran services. He cited a Maricopa Association of Governments study that indicates the West Valley will grow at nearly twice the rate of the East Valley and Phoenix over the next 35 years.
