A Housing Needs Assessment study conducted on behalf of the City of Maricopa revealed that citizens are seeking more diverse housing options.
The study, conducted by San Diego-based Atria Planning, LLC and presented by Rebecca Rothenberg to the city council during Tuesday’s meeting, indicated that renters are looking for more affordable housing options.
Currently, it’s cheaper to buy a home in Maricopa than it is to rent, with the majority of renters paying about $1,000 dollars or more on a monthly basis. By comparison, the average cost of purchasing a home ranges between the $100,000 to $200,000, making the majority of monthly mortgages considerably less.
